80's Birthday Party

 My sister and I celebrate our birthday in September...nothing better than remember our childhood in the 80's in a Family Reunion! ( Sorry I couldn't find Silvanos ) The first step was select the colors...Well, everything was very, very colorfull and bright in the 80's... I found these perfect paper plates on sale at Michael's.

Then, I thought about choosing a theme: a cartoon, a toy, or a singer to design the party. (I didn't want to have several things at the same time).

     I started to think about what we loved  when we were little...going to "Vai Levando" (it was like a small grocery store), where we used to go buy something for our Mom and always used the change to buy a dose of sweet peanut, "7 Bello" candy, "lolo",...
These candy jars are very similar with those at the grocery!

PacMan was one of our favourite game! So, I started to make several PacMen and ghosts to put on top of the cupcakes and the big cake. Those were made of fondant, even the eyes...I have no idea how many of them I made...(secret: my Mom helped me)

And I wanted to make the Paper POm POmS using the same colors.
They turned out cute!

Sweet Sweet and Decoration

You've seen this lollipop before, maybe you just haven't noticed!
This lollipop is Bakerella creation! They have beautiful shapes and colors at the website www.bakerella.com.
My friend Sonia made some blue ones for Carla's baby shower.
(Check out Carla's Baby Shower Post)
Why not to try to make them for Father's Day? That's what I did! The only difference is that I put NUTELLA instead of ICING! It was delicious!

Julia's Birthday Party

Cute Julia turned 1!
      Nadia, Juju's momy loves to make crafts and she is really good at it! Thinking about her daughter's party, she made a research about themes and colors and then she chose this beautiful paper plate from Party City as a "starter" to the decoration. (I'll put the pic's invitation created by her soon).
     Nadia is always tunned in bellebum's blog and ordered some decoration suplies for Julia's birthday!(I think she liked my help in her baby shower. Thanks Nadia for ordering from me again!)
     It was really fun to create the paper suplies matching the plate. Green and Pink polka dots, squares, and striped papers for the "Happy Birthday" banner and candy boxes.
     For the USA party, she wanted to give the kids a party favor that she saw here in the blog before (check Belle Bum's Blog Party to see the party favor), mini Hershey chocolates wrapped in a cute paper and plastic bag with ribbons. BUT she came up with the idea of using the letters of Julia's name in each chocolate!
     For the Brazil's party, she asked me a coordinated paper decor to close the party favors, which were plastic bags with toys for the kids. (also from the blog - check the moving party)
The most important thing is that both parties were full of hapiness and joy!!!
Hope you like the ideas...
Kisses,
Belle

Spring Gift

That card and flower vase can be an invitation + party favor for a party, or an invitation + center piece for an event or birthday party, or a card or thank you note + gift for a friend of yours. I have used stamp and quilling technique in this project. Hope you like!

Tissue Paper Pom-Pom

These pom-poms created by Martha Stewart are so cute, they appear to float in the air. I will make some for an upcomming party in September! Learn how to make them!

{Source: Martha Stewart}

Step 1

Stack eight 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inch-wide accordion folds, creasing with each fold.

Step 2

Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.

Step 3

Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.

Step 4

Bend wire into a loop to fit around napkin, and twist end around loop to secure.

Soccer Pizza Birthday Party

As usual, my husband didn't want a birthday party, but I couldn't resist!
It was a surprise until that day in the morning...

The first cupcakes in my life!

Napoleon: Luisa's special recipe!

Cake: I wanted to find a soccer ball cake. I even thought about trying to make one...but at that time I hadn't started my baking and decorating classes...so, the night before I called all the places I knew and none of them had time to make it...finally, I called to an "ice cream store" and they suggested a round plain ice cream
(oreo) cake with a soccer ball drawing on top of the cake.

I asked his friends to come with their favourite soccer T-shirt!

Everything was really simple, but delicious!I can tell I made about 20 big pizzas for about 15 people!!! The first idea was to make pizzas made of pitta bread. The second idea I thought was to make a party like the "pizza man" does in Brazil. All the ingredients are washed, cut, and ready to use! The "pizza man" goes to someone's house and prepare whatever the person wants to! It is very common to have several flavours at the same time and a waitress offers a little piece to everyone that wants to try it. Then, the waitress bring another flavour and so on...It's a kind of "rodizio", like in "churrascarias"- brasilian steak houses, they bring several kinds of meat, several times, so the person can have everything he wants,as many times he wants!
I prepared some of our favourite brasilian flavours:

- "Portuguesa"- Portuguese (tomato sauce, cheese,sliced black olives,sliced onion,boiled eggs)

-"Paulista"- Paulista (tomato sauce,cheese,palm heart, peas);

(source:www.clonepizza.com.br)

-"Vegetariana"- Veggie (tomato sauce,cheese,sliced red and green pepper,sliced mushrooms, sliced onion, sliced tomatos);

-"Frango com Catupiry"- Chicken and Catupiry cheese (tomato sauce,cheese, shredded chicken, catupiry cheese and corn if you want to);

-"Prestigio"- Coconut and Chocolate (condensed milk, shredded chocolate and shredded coconut);

(source:www.kazadapizza.com.br)

-"Morango com Chocolate"- Strawberries and Chocolate (condensed milk,shredded chocolate, sliced strawberries on top);

-"Banana com Canela"- Banana with Cinnamon (condensed milk,sliced banana, cinnamon)...

There are many more, but these ones are the best!!!
Hungry ha???
